Do you know the level of your stress?
and
Do you know why?
This site explores a few of the common sources of stress
in the western world uniquely associated
with the past 100 years.
Psychological stress is no different from physical stress. Stress is created when two or more opposing forces meet in opposition. The speed of that meeting, as well as the inherent properties of the structures present in the meeting, determines the outcome. As humans, we have set in motion powerful forces never before experienced by humans. And it is our own structures: our bodies, hearts and minds, which are subjected to these forces meeting within and around us.
Consider an airplane wing as it rushes towards a crash landing. The wing has been built to withstand the force of the wind and defy the force of gravity, lifting tons of raw weight away from gravity's hold. Yet as the plane rushes faster than normal to the ground, the force of momentum is too much and the wing will sheer away from the plane as the wheels crumple, and the belly tears and rips. These breaks absorb the tension of forces too great for them to bear, while maintain their own integrity. The speed of the wind. The consistency of the landing surface. The quality of the parts. And speed - the determining force: these will determine the consequence of landing.
As humans in an evolutionary transformation of enormous proportions, our crash landing is taking different forms. But speed and a number of forces invisible to many of us, will determine how much stress each one of us experiences, and the breaking point for components in our body, heart and mind. The purpose of this site is to bring into focus some of the key forces which may be stressing you to exhaustion or breaking point, so you can begin to protect yourself from intensities you are not capable of experiencing and simultaneously maintaining your self whole.
